Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy

Department of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy focuses on providing outstanding teaching learning experience to the physiotherapy students during academic and clinical training. The students are taught and trained to evaluate, functionally diagnose and practice required physiotherapeutic skills during academic teaching. Skill development training programs are conducted periodically by the faculty to improve the clinical skills. Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy department organizes workshops, webinars, CME, invited talks/lectures by guest faculties. Considering research is integrated part of academic training, UG and students are promoted to conduct short term projects during their curriculum. Post graduate students are promoted to attend and to present papers in national and international conferences, workshops to update their knowledge.

Departmental Objectives

1. To provide Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy education to under graduate and post graduate students to be a competent physiotherapist in clinical practice.

2. To teach administrative and ethical principles applicable during physiotherapy practice during their clinical training.

3. To apply advanced physiotherapeutic concepts during clinical practice.

4. To organize and provide an opportunity for students to learn advanced physiotherapy education in musculoskeletal field

5. To develop and implement the physiotherapy protocol using recent evidences for improving pain, mobility, functional independence using problem based approach.

6. To inculcate the research oriented positive thinking in clinical practice to improve quality of patient care.
