Community Physiotherapy


The department of Community Physiotherapy strives to promote the health and wellbeing of the common public through health promotion, health awareness education, and physiotherapeutic strategies to prevent diseases / disorders in the community. The department offers postgraduate degree in Master of Community Physiotherapy affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The core focus of the department is on the domains of women’s health, geriatrics and industrial health. The department is equipped with sophisticated physiotherapy equipments for comprehensive assessment and scientific & holistic intervention.

The department focuses mainly on providing outreach activities by organizing health care camps, health promotion sessions, health awareness education sessions, commemorating International / National health days to provide empirical knowledge to the undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy students. The department also has collaboration with department of Community Medicine and MGM MCRI hospital for providing hands-on training to our students.


Departmental Objectives


1. To train the students in community oriented approach with the ability to identify, prioritize, and manage the health problems

2. To make the students to understand the concept of primary care – preventive, promotive, and curative care in the community

3. To render physiotherapy and rehabilitation services in the core areas of women’s’ health, geriatrics and industrial therapy

4. To undertake research on major thrust areas of public health issues in the community

5. To educate the students to be socially responsible by organizing outreach activities in the community
